U.S. Initial Claims Slightly Rose Last Week – November 24

Yesterday, November 23rd, the U.S. jobless claims weekly report was published; the report showed an incline in initial claims of 2,000 for the week ending on November 19th; the total initial claims reached 393,000 claims (seasonally adjusted data); the four week average on the other hand decreased by 3,250 to 394,250; the insured unemployment rate remained at 2.9% for the week ending on November 12th;  the number of insured unemployment rose to 3.691 million, an increase of 68,000 compared with the previous week’s figure; the four week average on the other hand fell by 2,250 to 3.671 million. This news might affect the currency forex trading during the day.

Currently the U.S. dollar is traded up against most major currencies including the Euro.

Euros to USD is traded up at 1.336 a 0.0502 % increase as of 15:45*.

Canadian dollar to USD exchange rate is traded at 1.0481 a 0.0491% decrease as of 16:51*.

Current gold price, short term futures (December 2011 delivery) is traded at $1,697.2 per t oz. a $15 decrease or 0.09%, as of 16:37*.
