U.S. Initial Claims Slightly Rose Last Week – December 1

Today, December 1st, the U.S. jobless claims weekly report was published; the report showed an increase in initial claims of 6,000 for the week ending on November 26th; the total initial claims reached 402,000 claims (seasonally adjusted data); the four week average slightly increased by 500 to 395,750; the insured unemployment rate slightly inclined by 0.1 percent points to 3.0% for the week ending on November 19th;  the number of insured unemployment rose to 3.740 million, an increase of 35,000 compared with the previous week’s figure; the four week average on the rose by 8,250 to 3.675 million. This news might affect the currency forex trading during the day.

Currently the U.S. dollar is traded up against most major currencies including the Euro.

Euros to USD is traded up at 1.3473 a 0.1989 % increase as of 18:35*.

Canadian dollar to USD exchange rate is traded at 1.0143 a 0.5030% decrease as of 18:35*.

Current gold price, short term futures (January 2012 delivery) is traded at $1,740.4 per t oz. a $9.9 decrease or 0.57%, as of 18:33*.
