U.S. Initial Claims Slightly Fell Last Week – November 17

Today, November 17th, the U.S. jobless claims weekly report was published; the report presented a decline in initial claims of 5,000 for the week ending on November 12th; the total initial claims reached 388,000 claims (seasonally adjusted data); the four week average also decreased by 4,000 to 396,750; the insured unemployment rate remained at 2.9% for the week ending on November 5th;  the number of insured unemployment reached 3.608 million, a drop of 57,000 compared with the previous week’s figure; the four week average also fell by 32,750 to 3.702 million. This news might affect the currency forex trading during the day.

Currently the American stock markets in U.S. are traded with moderate changes and the U.S. dollar is traded down against most major currencies including the Euro.

Euros to USD is traded up at 1.3521 a 0.4299 % increase as of 15:45*.

AUD to USD exchange rate is traded at 1.0081 a 0.013% decrease as of 15:44*.

Current gold price, short term futures (December 2011 delivery) is traded at $1,745.8 per t oz. a $28.5 decrease or 1.61%, as of 15:29*.
